Sony Digital Book Readers

Sony Digital Book Readers are devices that many avid book readers are fast becoming dependent upon. What does this small device (or gadget as many would call it) offer that is resulting in this ebook reading device selling so much around the world. People are becoming more  nature friendly,  and are turning , more and more, to  digital book readers to save paper, production costs and transport that is used in the publishing of  millions of books  every year.

First of all, Sony digital book readers allow users to change from book to book extremely quickly, which is a very attractive feature to many readers. Get tired of one book; you can simply switch books in less than a few seconds. Even when you change books, you do not loose your page, as the ebook reading device stores to it’s memory the point where you stopped. Many users of this amazing device are also claiming that it’s  improving their reading speed. The text is very legible on the e-paper, and Sony have made it so that there is less text per page, this results in larger text.

With other digital book readers, many users have complained that it is very straining on their eyes because they have to look so closely to read the small text. Sony also debated whether to include a backlight, so users could read in the night, but finally did not. A lot of users claim that this was a good decision, as the backlight could be quite irritating to the eyes, and it would also considerably lower the battery life. The battery on Sony digital book readers lasts for many weeks, without having to charge it once. Also if you would like to read in the dark, you can simply attach a small light, which are readily available at Amazon, to the top of the eBook Reading Device.

The Sony and Kindle by Amazon are often compared, and are said to be two of the top digital book readers. I have used both and would have to definitely say the Sony comes out on top, both with its capabilities, and its looks. The Sony has a much more attractive, aluminum look to it, where as the Kindle has a more plasticy  look, which is not so attractive, in my opinion. Furthermore, the Sony is almost a hundred dollars less than the Kindle!

On another note, downloading files (ebooks) to  Sony digital book readers is very simple and fast. You cannot download wireless like you can with the Kindle, but I for one do not mind this that much, and it does pay to plan the books you require before you leave on, say, a vacation. The obvious downside is that you have to have access to a computer to add new books, so it is highly recommended that you  load your digital book reader with books if you know you will not be having computer access for a while.

All in all, Sony Digital Book Readers are definitely an ebook reading device worth investing in. Even if you are not a huge reader, and I’m well aware these things are not cheap, you can still benefit from any one of the Sony digital book readers time and time again. Going on a trip? Put a few articles or books on there and keep yourself occupied. The look, the spec and the bargain price of the Sony range all make it them the best digital book readers available out there right now!
